I Am Legend
We just finished watching I Am Legend, and it was really cool. Will Smith was great, as always, the effects were really good, and for the amount of time the writers had to develop the storyline, I think they did a pretty good job. Imagine living in a world where you were the last human you had seen for three years: everyone else had been killed by a deadly virus you were immune to, had been transformed into blood-thirsty, vampire-like beasts, or had survived and been killed by the aforementioned blood-thirsty, vampire-like beasts. What would dominate your thoughts? Survival? Loneliness? Hopelessness? Probably all of the above. Will Smith did an awesome job of communicating all of those feelings. The storyline, though quite different from the book, was well-suited to the time constraints of a movie. I’m really glad there was still a normal human race left at the end of the movie, and not a vampire race like at the end of the book. Overall, the movie was really good, very suspenseful, and well done: definitely one to watch again … on a dark and stormy night.
