Matthew 4:19: And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Pastor made a great point about this verse yesterday. Christ doesn’t say, Follow me, and become fishers of men: He says, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. The key thing in this verse is not being fishers of men, but rather following Christ. Once we do that, He will take care of making us who ought to be.

You are right, that is a great point. It puts the verse in a different perspective–the focus is on Christ’s work not on ours.
Good point, Randy!! We get so wrapped up in what we are going to say to people and how to say it…when, if we just let the Lord create the opportunities and then use them to praise Him before others or talk about what He has done, even just thanking Him before others, can lead to other things.
